you're so brave to expose those popsicle toes

so last night as cohen played on his new puzzle mats in the living room, arms flailing, feet banging on the ground with glee, baka and i embarked on a craft journey. she was busy knitting away at atticus' toque (which i won't show a picture of as i don't want to ruin the surprise, my guess is that you will be able to see it in all it's wool cap glory over at his site later...stay tuned!) so i needed to find something to do. after some minor contemplation i decided to make a doll. i will admit that i was inspired by kleja who is the god of all things crafty. i know i will never aspire to that level but it is fun to make things none the less. so here she is, my clown like doll. 3 minutes after handing her over to cohen she became completely soaked in saliva and her leg found it's way to the back of his mouth. i didn't here her complain though, so it must be a good match.

i guess she needs a name, any suggestions?

how boot sally? see results for: sally at dictionary.com - seems a clever, witty, or fanciful remark and apt given the great amounts of saliva that she will likely and repeatedly encounter...

strange the you should say that because as i was making her i was thinking sally without consideration of meaning. i think that might be a sign.

Yes, photos soon. Gorgeous, gorgeous hat! Hvala lepo, Baka!

I second A-one. Sally seems perfect for that doll. T, you constantly surprise me with how talented you are!

silvija got a kick out of your thank you, glad you like the hat, as for the talent i am not so sure.

baka attempted to teach me to knit tonight and then when she figured out that it might be slightly over my mental capacity she decided to try me on crochet instead as it was "easier". let's just say that if she wasn't here the crochet hook would have been out the window and there would have been tears. instead i feigned fatigue.

i have a new appreciation for the breed of humans that can actually do that stuff. i bow to you all.

sally is a great name. if you're looking for a middle name, it could be marta, in honour of crafty kleja's cat. see you soon!

I suggest learning to knit with very thick needles--it's easier to see what you are doing and what you might be doing wrong. Use chopsticks to learn the basics. That said, I never got past "the basics" so maybe I shouldn't be spewing advice.

I like Sally too not to mention her killer smile and matching jumpsuit.
Love to see crafts happen!
